Kim Patricia Augestad is a painter based in Oslo, Norway.
After concluding her medical practice as a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, and completing a BA in philosophy, she is now dedicated to her art full-time.
In her practice, creating art is a source of knowledge accumulation and generation. She sets out exploring different themes that are specific, closely tied to her own life and experiences, with the aim to arrive at the finished art piece with more universal knowledge.
«Through my work on belonging I have come to find that realizing a sense of belonging late in life is to settle into the role of a porter of shared sorrows and lost illusions – for those I love and have loved.
My vision through all my work is to create art that mobilizes change towards liberation.»
